TaylorMade
Promotionz Inc. is an event based promotional company that works
with the community to create awareness and revenue for charitable
and non profit organizations for children. Our clients deal with
issues of child safety and promote the preventative measures parents
can take to educate their children about dangers they face in
today’s society.
What does your company do?
We essentially provide an alternative to traditional marketing like T.V., Radio, Print or Big Box Retailers. Our responsibility is to
create marketing strategies that target all of the business in the
Greater Chicago area. We have a strategy that allows us to
create a word of mouth buzz by taking key features of our clients
product or message directly to local businesses. We literally have
the potential to get 100% exposure to a particular product or
service. For well known brands like Disney or Liz Claiborne this
approach is ideal for launching products in new categories. Lesser
known brands benefit from the exposure this type a strategy creates
to gain market share for the products in their core business.
Why are we looking for people?
The success of our approach has lead to some our top brands to
pressure us to expand the program. For the rest of
2007 we have a 2
part strategy for expansion. The first is geographical. The second
is divisionally. The supplier has chosen us to be the marketing arm
to launch their brands. We are creating divisions in each market
specifically to handle the expansion program.
What are we looking for in a candidate?
The biggest challenge for our company right now is finding the right
candidate. Although we have had an overwhelming response to our
recruitment efforts, not everyone is cut out for this type of
program. Because of the out of the box thinking that is necessary in
this industry, previous management, marketing or sales does not
necessarily translate to more value for our organization. We
typically focus on key characteristics.
1)
People Skills. A candidate who is comfortable dealing with people in
a marketing, sales or leadership capacity is ideal.
2) Willingness to learn. Our business is a learned
industry, results driven and competitive environment. Very few
people join our organization with all the skills necessary to
succeed in this industry. It is crucial that our candidates learn
and develop new skills quickly.
3) Ambition. We are looking for someone who wants more than a weekly
paycheck.
4) Responsible and Accountable.
We are looking for candidates that
continue to make a commitment for excellence personally as well
professionally. We pride ourselves that we only promote within.
